Women’s health

2017 Women’s Health and Fitness Day

Women’s Health and Fitness Day is an annual event to promote the importance of physical activity and health awareness for women of all ages across the nation. This year, Women’s Health and Fitness Day is Wednesday, Sept. 27. Novant Health UVA Health System is hosting events across the Northern Virginia and Culpeper areas to bring health and fitness to you. Check out our website to find the activities happening in your community.

Ladies’ night out

When it comes to healthcare, women often think of themselves last. This free event for women provides an opportunity to relax, enjoy a fun night out and get screened for breast cancer with a mammogram. Attendees can also get free checks for blood pressure and body mass index (BMI), as well as get screened for prediabetes. Ladies will also be able to try out the latest makeup trends, sample tasty appetizers and mocktails, and participate in a drawing for prizes. Registration is required for a mammogram appointment, and most insurance plans will cover the cost. Financial assistance is available for those without insurance.

Community event

Prince William Half Marathon

Join runners and their supporters at the Novant Health UVA Health System Prince William Half Marathon, which kicks off at Jiffy Lube Live, the premier live entertainment venue in Prince William County. Enjoy a race village atmosphere that includes live music from local bands, food and more, while also supporting the Novant Health UVA Health System Prince William Medical Center Foundation. In addition to sponsoring the race, Novant Health UVA Health System will provide medical coverage on race day.
