Dear neighbor,

When extraordinary medicine is combined with remarkable care, something amazing happens. That’s exactly what you will find at Novant Health UVA Health System. Patients have more innovative treatments and more options for care, all personalized to their specific needs. Two years ago, Novant Health, recognized for its remarkable care experience, partnered with UVA Health System, a world-renown academic medical center, to form this new regional system in Northern Virginia. Last summer, I was honored to join the team as the CEO.

It’s an exciting time to be at Novant Health UVA Health System — a time of excellence and growth. We offer compassionate, quality care at our medical offices, outpatient facilities and three Novant Health UVA Health System medical centers: Culpeper Medical Center, Haymarket Medical Center and Prince William Medical Center. When needed, our patients also have access to expertise, subspecialty care, advanced treatment options and clinical trials at the University of Virginia Health System.

High quality and safe patient care are hallmarks of our culture. Our medical centers have earned recognition from a variety of national healthcare organizations governing safety, patient care and quality of services provided. Culpeper and Prince William earned outside recognition for our scrupulous attention to patient safety. Both received “A” grades in 2017 from The Leapfrog Group, a nonprofit that evaluates hospitals based on 30 measures related to safe care. Prince William also is proud to be a Magnet-designated hospital, which means it has been recognized by the American Nurses Credentialing Center for nursing excellence and patient care.

Access to high quality care also means offering the latest technological advancements. We have invested in world-class services to bring more specialized care to all of our communities. Women can choose low-dose 3-D mammography in Culpeper for early detection of cancer. In Prince William, heart failure patients can use a wireless sensor that remotely monitors their pulmonary artery, helping to keep them out of the hospital. Surgeons use high-tech robotic surgery in Haymarket, which results in less pain, faster recoveries and lower incidence of infection for patients.

Amazing healthcare starts with delivering high quality services using the most advanced technology. That’s exactly what you’ll find at Novant Health UVA Health System. Our ultimate goal remains the same: to improve the health of our communities, one person at a time.

We’re looking forward to a long and healthy partnership with you and your family.

In good health,

Maggie Gill
CEO, Novant Health UVA Health System
