How to access interpreter services


At Novant Health UVA Health System, interpreter services can be scheduled according to patients’ and team members’ needs.

For immediate service needs, use telephone services by dialing 8353 from any facility phone, or dial 704-384-1200, option 1 (telephone interpreter), 2 (ROLL assistance) or 3 (face-to-face interpreter scheduling).

Face-to-face services can be scheduled in advance online via the Interpreter Scheduling System on I-Connect.

Send written translation requests to InterpreterServices@NovantHealth.org. If you have documents that need to be translated, the interpreter services team will decide if it can be handled internally. If not, the team will work with TransPerfect, our outside translation vendor, to get the content translated.

For sign language interpreter services, use our remarkable on-demand language liaison (ROLL). We recently added larger screens so patients can now easily see interpreters on the screens.

 

At Culpeper Medical Center, CyraCom system provides both phone and video interpretation services. CyraCom video interpretation provides a video link to an interpreter, much like remarkable on-demand language liaison (ROLL). This service is available in hospital-based provider offices, including, cardiology, OB/GYN, orthopedics and general surgery, as well as in the emergency room, inpatient services and outpatient services. Face-to-face interpreters are also available.
