You’ll gain a better understanding of what is diabetes and learn how it is managed, including glucose monitoring, healthy eating and exercise. You’ll also learn about the effects of stress on blood sugar level, and you’ll learn to set individual goals to progress toward long-term health. Invite a friend or loved one. The event is free but registration is required. Call 703-369-8405 to register. It will be held Nov. 7 and Nov. 14 at Prince William Medical Center in suite 108. Please plan to attend both dates.
Girlology coming to Culpeper Medical Center Nov. 12
Start a healthy, factual conversation about puberty and reproduction with boys and girls in fourth through sixth grades and their parents. When girls learn about puberty before it happens, they typically face it with greater confidence and even excitement. This event deals with just the facts: There’s a lot of chatter on the playground, and some of it is too awkward to ask about at home. Each program concludes with time for anonymously submitted questions and answers. The next event will be held Nov. 12 at Culpeper Medical Center in conference rooms A and B. Team members receive half off the registration fee using the promo code NOVA50. Registration is required 48 hours in advance of class. Register online at Girlology.com.
