Visitor restrictions for acute care facilities start Friday, Jan. 12 at 7 a.m.

To protect the health of our patients, Novant Health UVA Health System Haymarket Medical Center and Novant Health UVA Health System Prince William Medical Center will limit visitation effective at 7 a.m. on Jan. 12. Novant Health UVA Health System Culpeper Medical Center is not impacted.

At this time, no visitors 12 and under will be allowed in both acute care facilities. This applies to any children who are visiting patients, including siblings, friends or family members. It does not apply to children who are seeking care. Children also will be restricted from attending classes in or touring the hospitals.

This action is to protect our patients and to reduce the likelihood that children who are visiting might encounter the flu. Review this memo from David Priest, MD, MPH, for more details, including exceptions to the policy. Please also read a Q&A and access scripts to help you explain the restrictions to our patients. If you need to post signage in your areas, you may download a bilingual flier announcing the change to patients. Please post in public areas, as appropriate. Download the horizontal flier or vertical flier.
