Visitor restrictions for acute care facilities now live
To protect the health of our patients, Novant Health UVA Health System is limiting visitation in all acute care facilities.
We continue to restrict visitation for visitors 12 and under in our acute care facilities at this time. This applies to any children who are visiting patients, including siblings, friends or family members. It does not apply to children who are seeking care. Children are also restricted from attending classes in or touring the hospitals.
This action is to protect our patients and to reduce the likelihood that children who are visiting might encounter the flu. Click here to access a memo with additional information. Please also read a Q&A and access scripts to help you explain the restrictions to our patients.
Please note: As of Jan. 22, visitor restrictions are also in effect at Culpeper Medical Center, which is allowing children accompanied by an adult in the emergency department, ob-gyn medical office and the Family Birth Center with some restrictions.
For Prince William Medical Center and Haymarket Medical Center, if you need to post signage in your areas, you may download a bilingual flyer announcing the change to patients. Please post in public areas, as appropriate. Click here for the horizontal version or click here for the vertical version.
