Shannon Swiger – A world-traveling, baby goat loving, internal communication manager
Shannon Swiger, internal communication manager at Novant Health, spends her days working with her team to produce all the Novant Health news team members and leaders see, whether on I-Connect, in an e-newsletter or on the Novant Health Team Connect Facebook page. She is also working on developing a robust analytics program to help measure the impact of their work. Which value do you actually associate most with while performing your work duties? (Compassion, Diversity and Inclusion, Personal excellence, Teamwork, Courage)
That's tough. I really relate to all of our values. Without teamwork, it wouldn't be possible to do my job. I am grateful to be part of such a collaborative, high-performing team. Our successes truly are a group effort, and I think that helps us build pride and momentum.
What words or wisdom or personal motto can you share with team members to help them get through days of deeper stress that have served you on yours?
Be kind to yourself. Take responsibility for your happiness and well-being. Do the things you love. Don't forget to feed your soul!

Traveling, scuba diving, cooking, writing
What is the oddest thing we’d find in your purse, car, desk or locker?
So many books. I have a bit of a book problem.
