Year-round college volunteers
Our year-round college volunteer program gives students an opportunity to learn about healthcare by assisting staff, visitors, and patients with non-medical tasks. Volunteers must be able to follow directions, accept supervision, comply with the rules, exhibit interest and enthusiasm and work independently. If you are interested in serving in a healthcare setting and feel you can meet our expectations, we invite you to apply. College students interested in volunteering year-round should apply as adults.
Summer college volunteers
We offer college students an opportunity to volunteer during the summer and become an integral part of the remarkable patient experience found at Novant Health UVA Health System. All applicants must be between 18-22 or those up to age 25 if enrolled in an undergraduate college program. The summer college volunteer program provides an opportunity to serve 8-10 weeks at Prince William Medical Center, Haymarket Medical Center, Caton Merchant House or the Aubergine Thrift Store with the option to come back on school breaks throughout the year. The best possible match is made at the time of the interview. However, volunteer service areas depend on the needs and availability of the departments.
