Novant Health UVA Health System’s mission is to deliver the most remarkable patient experience, in every dimension, every time and our volunteers play an important role in fulfilling that expectation. At Novant Health UVA Health System, we have volunteers at five area locations that make a positive difference every day for our patients, their families and our staff. We are proud to say that 687 volunteers have given over 62,000 hours of service in the past year. Our volunteers are a compassionate, dedicated and diverse group of individuals who generously contribute thousands of hours annually to improve the health and well-being of our community.
All volunteers are members of the Novant Health Auxiliary. The Auxiliary's mission is to provide:
- Needed volunteer services to patients and staff of Novant Health UVA Health System
- Goodwill between the community and the hospital system.
- Fundraising to benefit patient care at Novant Health UVA Health System.
Our volunteers have the opportunity to not only help others, but to acquire new skills and knowledge about the healthcare field, develop new interests, and build lasting relationships. We recognize our volunteers are essential in providing the best patient care experience
