ANCC Magnet Designation

American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) Magnet Designation was achieved by Novant Health UVA Health System Prince William Medical Center nurses. Magnet recognition is the highest and most prestigious distinction healthcare organizations can earn for nursing excellence and high-quality patient care.

The Joint Commission accreditations

The Joint Commission Disease-Specific Care Certification Program which evaluates clinical programs during on-site reviews to assess clinical outcomes and performance measures, to identify opportunities to improve care quality for patients and how patients and their caregivers are educated and prepared for discharge. Prince William Medical Center has achieved The Joint Commission accreditations for: acute myocardial infarction, heart failure, pneumonia, joint/hip replacement and joint/knee replacement.

Get with the Guidelines – Gold & Silver Award

The American Heart Association/American Stroke Association’s Get With The Guidelines®-AWARD and Heart Failure AWARD, recognizes a hospital’s commitment and success in ensuring patients receive the most appropriate treatment for stroke and heart failure according to nationally recognized, research-based guidelines built on the latest scientific evidence. Get with the Guidelines – Heart Failure Gold Award and Get with the Guidelines – Stroke Silver Plus Award.

American College of Cardiology (ACC) Chest Pain Accreditation

American College of Cardiology (ACC) Chest Pain Accreditation recognized our efforts in bringing together a multidisciplinary team of medical specialists, such as EMS, emergency medicine, cardiology, clinicians, administrators, doctors and nurses to improve our clinical processes for the early assessment, diagnosis and treatment of Acute Coronary Syndrome (ACS), Heart Failure (HF), and Atrial Fibrillation (AF) within our emergency treatment facilities. Accredited hospitals have achieved a higher level of expertise when dealing with patients who arrive with symptoms of a heart attack.

Commission on Cancer Accreditation recognizes our cancer care program for their commitment to providing comprehensive, high-quality and multidisciplinary patient centered care.

Breast Center of Excellence accreditation

National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers our Breast Center has achieved the Breast Center of Excellence accreditation, which assures you that our breast center holds the highest standards of care for patients with diseases of the breast.

Nationally recognized Cancer Center

American College of Radiology has nationally recognized our Cancer Center following a third-party, impartial peer review and evaluation of our patient care, staff, equipment, treatment planning and records, patient safety and quality control activities.

Leapfrog Group Hospital “A” health grade

The Leapfrog Group Hospital Health Grades awarded Prince William Medical Center with Grade A performance for the spring 2017 Hospital Safety Grades scoring period. Grade A achievement demonstrates our commitment to reducing errors, infections, and accidents that can harm patients. Hospitals earning top marks nationally in Leapfrog’s Hospital Safety Grades have achieved the highest safety standards in the country.

Prince William Medical Center routinely achieves top quartile performance for preventing avoidable readmissions and preventing hospital acquired infections. Prince William Medical Center has also proven their commitment to ensuring they provide the highest quality of care by consistently performing above their target of 80th percentile for process of care measures, including metrics which ensure high standard of care in perinatal (mother/baby) care, cardiac care, efficiency and patient satisfaction measures.
