Q. Why should I set up a MyHealthConnection account?

A. When you set up an account with MyHealthConnection, you can see upcoming appointments, lab results and discharge information online any time. To protect your privacy, provide your email address to our staff. This helps us make sure that YOU are the only one with access to your health information.

Q. How do I get a MyHealthConnection account?

A. Go here and click on the "enroll" button. You will be prompted to enter your:

    1. Name
    2. Date of birth
    3. Medical record number (your care team can provide this to you)
    4. Email address on file

You will receive an email from noreply@culpeperhospital.com with your user ID or login credentials and a temporary password, which is valid for 30 days.

When you enter the login and password provided, you will then be prompted to create a new user ID and password.

Enter your three security questions and click "Submit." That's all it takes – you now have online access to MyHealthConnection.

Q. Why do you need my email address? Will medical information be sent to this address?

A. We need your email address so that we can send you notifications when something has been sent to your account or if there has been a change to your account. No medical information is sent to your email address. Here is a sample message that may be sent to you via email: "A new document has been sent to your MyHealthConnection Patient Portal. Please login to the portal at your earliest convenience to review this document."

Q. My temporary password has expired. How may I request a new temporary password?

A. You may request a new temporary password by emailing MyHealthConnection@culpeperhospital.com.

Q. If I forgot my Login ID, how do I find out what it is?

A. Click on the "Forgot your username?" link on the MyHealthConnection login page then follow the instructions.

Q. How do I change my Login ID?

A. Contact the Help Desk at 540.829.8848 or email MyHealthConnection@culpeperhospital.com.


Password and Security

Q. I forgot my password. What do I do?

A. Click on the "Forgot your password?" link on the MyHealthConnection login page. Enter your user ID and answer your password security questions. An email will be sent to your email on file with a link to reset your password.

Q. How do I change my password?

A. To change your password, you need to know your old password. Log in to MyHealthConnection, go to "Preferences" and "Change Password." Enter your new password when prompted and select "Submit."

Q. I'm not able to change my password.

A. Please email MyHealthConnection@culpeperhospital.com to have your password reset.

Q. What should I do to ensure that my health information is secured when using MyHealthConnection?

A. MyHealthConnection is a secure application. It is important that when you exit MyHealthConnection, you log off and close all browsers that you have open. Please notify us at MyHealthConnection@culpeperhospital.com immediately if you change the email address where you receive portal notifications.

Q. How do I know that my information is protected?

A. MyHealthConnection uses role-based security with the most advanced information safeguards. Encryption, password protection, viewer tracking and other measures protect against unauthorized use. Your information is NOT shared with third parties.


Email Alerts

Q. Why am I not receiving email notification messages?

A. Occasionally some mail systems will block MyHealthConnection messages. Please try some of the following suggestions and see if they help:

  1. Update your email address on the MyHealthConnection Preference page, even if it is correct. 
  2. Check your SPAM folder in your email. 
  3. Be sure that MyHealthConnection@culpeperhospital.com is in your address book as an approved sender. 
  4. Try an alternate email address, if you have one.
  5. Contact your email provider and make sure that they are not blocking these email messages.

Proxy/Family Records

Q. How do I get access to my child's records?

A. To be able to view your child’s health information, your child must be a patient at Novant Health UVA Health System Culpeper Medical Center. Even if you are not enrolled in the portal, your child can be enrolled by the staff if you provide your email address and fill out the MyHealthConnection Proxy Access form. You can then complete the enrollment on behalf of your child. 

If you already have an account for MyHealthConnection, your child can be linked to your account. You will need to fill out and sign the appropriate MyHealthConnection Proxy Access form and provide an email address for portal notifications. If you log in to your MyHealthConnection account and go to "Change Person," you will be able to see the accounts that you are managing.

Q. How do I let a family member have access to my MyHealthConnection information?

A. To allow a family member access to your health information on MyHealthConnection Patient Portal, you will need to fill out the appropriate MyHealthConnection Proxy Access form and have the family member sign it. Bring it to Novant Health UVA Health System Culpeper Hospital's Medical Records department. Once this form is filled out, it will be scanned into your electronic record to show that you granted permission to a proxy. If the family member does not currently have a MyHealthConnection account, then he or she will need to provide an email address to receive portal notifications.

The family member will be sent a temporary password and must then log in to MyHealthConnection to set up his/her account. The family member can then go to "Change Person" and confirm that he/she is able to see your portal information.
