Mobile mammography

Bringing mammography services to you

The Novant Health UVA Health System mobile mammography unit is a motorized coach that brings a mammography machine to where you live, work, and attend civic activities and faith-based services. Our goal is to ensure all women have access to high-quality breast health services, regardless of ability to pay or travel to a full-service imaging center.

Typically, mammograms are covered as preventive screenings under most insurance plans. If you do not have insurance and cannot afford a mammogram, you may qualify for a screening thanks to dedicated grants and fundraisers. This program is a collaborative effort between Novant Health UVA Health System breast health services, our foundations and several individual and corporate donors.
