Pamper Me Pink

Making mammograms accessible

History

In 2005, Sharon Welch Clark, owner of Pepperberries in Culpeper, VA, launched Pamper Me Pink, an annual event that focuses on women’s health and encourages women to take some time out for pampering. Through a partnership with Culpeper Medical Center and Novant Health UVA Health System over the last 15 years, Pamper Me Pink has become much more than a social event.

Sharon Clark saw a need in the community to heighten awareness, educate and raise money related to breast health within the local community. What began as a small gathering of 25 women upstairs from the former location of Pepperberries has blossomed into a tradition for many – and often an emotional reunion that hundreds look forward to each year.

The Pamper Me Pink Mammography Fund

The Pamper Me Pink Mammography Fund of Novant Health UVA Health System Culpeper Medical Center provides free mammograms and follow-up imaging to women and men of financial need within our service area. Through the Pamper Me Pink Fund, founder Sharon Welch Clark and Culpeper Medical Center have helped hundreds of Culpeper residents who could not afford breast health services to benefit from lifesaving mammography screenings.

The Pamper Me Pink Fund continues to support our community, with the ongoing mission that no local resident should go without a mammogram or follow-up imaging due to an inability to pay.

To donate to the Pamper Me Pink Mammography Fund, please call 540-829-4327 to use a credit/debit card or make checks payable to “Pamper Me Pink Fund” and mail to Novant Health UVA Health System Culpeper Medical Center, Attn: Cashier, 501 Sunset Lane, Culpeper, VA 22701.

Connect with Pamper Me Pink

Due to COVID-19 restrictions on in-person events, and out of an abundance of caution for the health of our community, Pamper Me Pink will be moving to a virtual format for 2020 activities presented by Pepperberries and Novant Health UVA Health System Culpeper Medical Center.

Please know that what Pamper Me Pink has come to represent and provide is not going away. During the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, we are reminded that the Pamper Me Pink Fund is designed to support those in need and remain dedicated to the mission that no local resident should go without a mammogram or follow-up imaging due to an inability to pay.

During the month of October, Pamper Me Pink will share inspiring stories, provide valuable education from medical experts, showcase community support and offer prizes to those participating in the “Where is Pink?” game on Facebook.
